Building on Our Vision

With the transformation of the labour market in recent years, FÁS continues to adapt to serve the needs of an economy now employing over 2 million people. Success brings new challenges, not least to ensure sustainability and to broaden social inclusion. Drawing on its experience and success in delivering its previous strategy and following an extensive internal and external consultation process, 'Building on Our Vision' is the Statement of Strategy for 2006-2009. It takes account of ongoing change in the economic and labour market environment, as well as Government and EU policy direction, identifies new challenges, opportunities and key priorities for FÁS over the next 4 years.

The FÁS Training Strategy sets out a broad vision for FÁS training over the coming years. It indicates the main external factors that influence FÁS activities, reviews existing provision, and indicates the nature and mix of training programmes and services required for the future. The FÁS Training Strategy is consistent with 'Building on Our Vision'.

The information and communications technology, or ICT Strategy was undertaken in 2002 in order to make the most out of information and communications technology in providing services and in internal processes and systems.
