Notes

  1. The minimum payment to a Job Initiative participant is € 416.00
  2. Administration/materials/overheads equates to a maximum of 8% of the grant.
  3. Training and development equates up to 4% of the grant.
  4. Persons over 35 years of age, unemployed and in receipt of Jobseekers Allowance / Jobseekers Benefit or those on Lone Parents allowance for at least 5 years are eligible. This programme was closed to new entrants in November 2004.
  5. The child dependent allowance portion of any social welfare payment may be retained for 13 weeks, or alternatively, the participant may qualify for Family Income Support if they have children.
  6. Medical Cards can be retained for 3 years.
  7. Entitlements to holidays, sick leave, maternity leave, grievance and disciplinary procedures and taxation apply, as in other full-time jobs.
  8. Participants may also be entitled to Revenue Job Assist (the Job Initiative supervisor will explain this on commencement).
