Training Centre Profile: NLN Galway has been providing quality vocational training and employment for people with disabilities for over 50 years. The centre provides training programmes which are nationally recognised, accredited and assist our students to gain employment.

Client Profile/ Eligibility:
For people who are 16 yrs or older and in receipt of some form of disability allowance and must be registered with FÁS as having a need that cannot be met in a FÁS training centre. Applications do not require formal entry qualifications. Programmes are open to all disability groups.

Courses & Certification:

Transition:
     An introduction to vocational skills in a real working environment.

  • FETAC, NCVA Level 3 & 4 Certification

Tuas Nua:    (Fresh Start) A course focusing on personal development and vocational exploration.

  • FETAC, NCVA, IAS Level 3 & 4 Certification

Employer Based Training:    (EBT) Practical skills training based in a workplace

  •    FETAC, NCVA, IAS Level 3 & 4 Certification

Information Technology by Distance Learning:    Computer training in own home. Specially designed for those with particular transport/mobility problems resulting from location or accident/illness difficulties.

  • ECDL Core, ECDL Advanced, Manual/Computerised payroll and Book-keeping - FETAC Level 5

Training Centre Profile: Ability Enterprises provides full and part-time learner centered training in Information Technology and Office Skills for learners with physical/sensory disabilities. The centre offers in-centre training and self directed Distance Learning programme in the learners home with online/tutor support. The training centre has up-to-date equipment and uses the latest in software technology.

Learners can also avail of Information Services & Driver Assessment /Training in adapted vehicles at DDAI School of Motoring.
