Finding Work

Before leaving for Ireland you should first look at Irish job opportunities and seek pre-departure advice and information from Eures Advisers in your own country. You can contact them at your local Public Employment Service Office (also see the website http://ec.europa.eu/eures/). On arrival, one of your first points of contact for assistance in securing employment and other information on Ireland should be a FÁS Employment Services Office; these are located in all major towns throughout Ireland.

FÁS – Training and Employment Authority

FÁS is the Irish Government’s Training and Employment Authority, which provides training and employment programmes, and a recruitment service for those seeking employment. Citizens from EU/EEA Member States and Switzerland are entitled to register for employment or training and can avail of guidance and counselling services. Information on jobs can be accessed on the FÁS Jobs Ireland website at http://www.fas.ie/ and via FÁS information kiosks.

FÁS has a network of 66 Employment Services Offices and 20 Training Centres throughout the country. FÁS provides a facility for language interpretation in all of its offices nationwide. Contact details and locations of FÁS offices are available on http://www.fas.ie/ or in the Irish Telephone Directory.
