A Pass to Train and Work in Europe
Europass is an initiative of the European Commission which aims to help people make their skills and qualifications clearly and easily understood in Europe, thus facilitating the mobility of both learners and workers. The Europass portfolio of Documents has been designed in such a way as to help people chronicle their skills and competences in a coherent manner, whether they are planning to enrol in an education or training programme, looking for a job, or getting experience abroad.

- Enables people with diverse backgrounds and experieSnces to gain access to opportunities for learning and employment throughout Europe, particularly by helping people to move between countries or across employment sectors;
- Promotes strong links between education and training, business and industry, ensuring the continuing relevance and adequate appreciation of competences and qualifications;
- Is an open system that supports European policy developments related to the transparency of competences and qualifications.
The Irish National Europass Centre (NEC) is located within the National Qualifications Authority of Ireland (NQAI). It is the national agency for Europass in Ireland and represents Ireland in the European network for Europass.
