ReferNet is a Europe-wide network of organisations with an involvement in vocational education and training (VET). Established by the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training (Cedefop), each national unit or consortium of ReferNet comprises organisations under a lead partner. In Ireland the lead partner is FÁS-Training and Employment Authority. Ireland is represented on the Governing Board of Cedefop by Mr. Pat Hayden, Department of Education and Skills, Mr. Tony Donohoe of employers’ organisation IBEC and union representative Mr. Peter Rigney of ICTU.

Network activities are focused on documentation and information collection and exchange on developments in VET policy and research. The Network also provides members of the consortium with an opportunity to broaden their contacts with other European organisations.
