FÁS Training for All

FÁS offers training courses suited to needs of both jobseekers looking for employment (FÁS Jobs Ireland) and employees wishing to improve their skills (Employee Training).

Part-time, full-time, day and evening courses for jobseekers are all listed at FÁS Jobs Ireland (freephone 1800 611 116). In addition, specific skills training for industry and the Traineeship programme, which combines formal training with workplace coaching, are also available here.

Specially designed training programmes allow Apprentices to qualify as craftspeople and eCollege facilitates self-paced distance learning through the Internet.

Employees wishing to further their training and improve their knowledge, skills base and competence can undertake Employee Training in a range of industries from clothing to transport according to demand. FÁS encourages this education in the workplace and the improvement of skills for work, or 'upskilling', through its One Step Up initiative.

Other sectoral training includes the Construction Skills Certificate Scheme and Safe Pass for those interested in construction and Screen Training Ireland for those seeking a career in the film industry.

FÁS offers dedicated services aimed at providing eligible people with an opportunity to participate in community life through community based training programmes and work experience. Under certain conditions, FÁS provides financial support in the form of Allowances to assist with its programmes, for example Training, Travel, Accommodation and Meals and Childcare.
