For Employers

• Traineeships are designed to meet the specific training and employment requirements of industry sectors and sub-sectors;
• Employers and FÁS co-operate in all aspects of traineeship, from course design to recruitment;
• The programme participant will be paid a Training Allowance by FÁS;
• Traineeships help improve recruitment, retention and productivity;
• Participating companies will be seen as progressive employers in the sector;
• Employers can develop the skills of existing employees as skills coaches.

For Trainees

• Successful candidates are awarded a FETAC Certificate or Advanced Certificate depending on the programme of choice;
• Structured training is provided during work placement with the host company;
• Support of a skills coach while training with the host company;
• Access to potential employment opportunities with the host company;
• FÁS Training Allowance for the duration of the traineeship.
