Colitis and Crohn's Disease

Ulcerative Colitis and Crohn's Disease (collectively called Inflammatory Bowel Disease or IBW) are chronic illnesses for which there is at present no known cause or cure. It can affect anyone at any stage in his or her life. The symptoms are pain, diarrhoea, fever, and loss of appetite and weight loss. The Irish Society for Colitis and Crohn’s Disease (ISCCD) holds public meetings and lectures by doctors, gastroenterologists, surgeons and dieticians around the country to provide help and information to families and friends of all interested parties. The details are displayed on its website.
